Russel joined Dominion Gas in late 2008 as Projects Director and held the technical position within the company. He set up a new business unit in Ghana, West Africa and helped develop the company’s portable packaged gas filling system. In August 2010, Russel stepped into the Group Managing Directors position.
After starting his career as a Civil Engineer with Wakefield and Imberg Consultants, he entered the oil and gas industry in 1984 by joining Shell as a subsea pipeline engineer. Russel then spent 15 years with ExxonMobil and held positions as Subsea Engineer, Offshore Installation Manager and Project Manager. Prior to leaving ExxonMobil, Russel successfully project managed a $200 million gas plant expansion at St Fergus in Scotland.
He has a 2.1 Honours degree in Civil Engineering from Newcastle University and is a Chartered Engineer.
